AN Oxfordshire theatre has confirmed it is in the final stages of repairs after being hit with flooding earlier this year.

Banbury's Mill Arts Centre's main auditorium closed in January, initially as a temporary measure, after the building was hit by flooding. 

Final stages of repairs are now taking place, with performances resuming at the Mill Arts Centre from October 1.

All performances throughout September are scheduled to take place at a pop-up theatre at Woodgreen Leisure Centre.

The Mill at Woodgreen has been operating since April 25 and was initially meant to run until June 30, but has since been extended. 

However the Café Bar, exhibitions, classes and workshop programme will operate as normal at The Mill throughout September.

A spokesperson for the Mill said they are 'very much looking forward to being able to resume live events back at The Mill this Autumn'.

"Thank you for your ongoing support and patience whilst our auditorium has remained out of action since earlier this year," they said. 

"We have been delighted at the response from audiences and performers alike to our pop-up theatre space, and wanted share some of the great feedback below."

They added that they are 'extremely grateful' to Cherwell District Council, Legacy Leisure, and Banbury Cross Indoor Bowls Club for enabling them to host shows at Woodgreen Leisure Centre.
