A DRIVER has been fined after driving on the motorway with insufficient tyre tread, a court has heard.
Jeffery Holland, of Little Faringdon, Oxfordshire, was caught on March 3 this year driving on the M4 near Swindon with less than 1.6mm of tyre tread on the passenger side.
The 49-year-old was charged with two counts of using a passenger vehicle with tyres with insufficient tread on his BMW.

He was also charged with driving without third party insurance.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court on August 20, he pleaded guilty to the offences and was disqualified from driving for four months and fined £740.
There were also court costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £304.
The total amount to pay is £1,134.
