AN inquest has opened into the death of an electrician who fell while replacing his shed roof in Oxfordshire.

Peter Russell, 70, was replacing his shed roof at his home address in Middletown, Hailey, Witney, when he fell from a height.

The retired electrician was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington but he was pronounced dead at 5.10pm on August 19, two days later.

An inquest opening at Oxford Coroner’s Court on Wednesday (August 28) heard that a post-mortem examination was carried out.

A medical cause of death has been provided as cardiorespiratory arrest, obdontoid peg and atlas fractures, and fall from a roof.

On November 18 at 12pm, a full inquest will take place into his death.
