An Oxfordshire-based Oasis superfan podcaster has reacted to the band’s announcement to reform.
The Manchester band, originally formed in the 1990s by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, penned hits including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Stand By Me.
Yet tensions and fractures grew between the pair culminating in the band splitting on August 28, 2009, at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris, France.
Now almost 15 years to the day, Noel and Liam have put their differences aside to sensationally reform the band against all the odds.

James Corcoran from Didcot runs The Oasis Podcast which boasts around 1,200,000 listens so far and is listened to in most countries in the world.
“The time [for the reunion] feels right at the moment,” he said.
“15 years is a good amount of time to really ramp things up, plus if they wouldn’t want to leave it too much longer until the guys are in their 60s.”
The 44-year-old is now married with three children but his love for the band dates back three decades.
“I was 14 when Definitely Maybe came out in 1994 and I just remember thinking that album and the B-sides were just on another level to any other music I’d heard,” said James.

“Plus it wasn’t just about the music, it was all tied in with the attitude, clothes, haircut, everything.
“Plus that was also in the thick of Britpop so there were tonnes of other great bands around like Pulp and Blur who I also really loved.
“Yes I loved Blur as, contrary to popular belief, most people liked both of them.”
James, who works as a financial planner professionally, set up the podcast in 2017 after noticing a can in the market.
“I’m a huge fan of podcasts and obviously a big Oasis fan and I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a podcast dedicated to the band,” he said.

“So in 2017, I decided to start my own and it did really well pretty much straight away.
“Turns out there were thousands of people like me also desperate for an Oasis podcast.”
The father-of-three doesn’t believe the reunion could last forever and wonders if the Gallaghers truly have made up after their various quarrels and squabbles.
“It’s hard to say as we don’t know what the relationship between the brothers is like,” said James.
“We shall see once we get them in a room together for the first time.

“It could be they have genuinely made up or they still hate each other and they are on separate tour busses and don’t see each other outside the 2 hours on stage per night.
“I don’t think it will be a long-running thing, I imagine it will just be for this tour and then Noel especially will want to go back to his solo work.”
James is planning on getting reunion tickets and believes many from Oxfordshire will given the heavy following the band has here.
“Oh yes, I will try to go and see them at least a couple of times,” he said.
“I know some friends are saying they will try to go to every show which would just not be feasible for me without remortgaging the house!

“There are a lot of Oasis fans in Oxfordshire as there are all over the country although probably less so in big cities like Glasgow, Belfast and obviously Manchester.
“It doesn’t help not having a large gig venue locally though so to see either of the brothers you have to travel to London, Birmingham or Cardiff.”
