A housekeeper at an Iffley hotel said she "loves" her job as she celebrates 20 years in the role.
Rosemary Floyd, 63, has kept Hawkwell House’s bedrooms sparkling for two decades.
She said: "I love it here. The people are wonderful and I really enjoy the work. All my colleagues are friends and we all take pride in our work."
Now, Ms Floyd, who lives in Littlemore, Oxford, is encouraging others to choose a career in the hotel industry.
She said: "It’s all about hard work and being friendly, everyone at the hotel plays a part in welcoming and looking after our guests.
"The housekeeping team make sure the bedrooms are nice for our guests and they regularly thank us, which makes it all worthwhile."
She has seen many changes since she joined the hotel in 2004, when a pint of milk cost 35p, lager was £2.34 and Facebook had just been launched.
The hotel underwent a major refurbishment a few years ago.
She said: “When I joined we had sheets and blankets in the rooms and now it’s beautiful big duvets.”
The hotel is recruiting for various positions, including front office manager, food and drink manager, wedding and event coordinator, and conference and banqueting team leader.
Ms Floyd continued: "I enjoy every day, it’s all about the people for me. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a new opportunity.
"The great thing about the hotel too is that people can work shifts, so it suits all sorts of people.
"The hotel provides a lot of training and support and the key thing is to like helping others."
She added: "When I joined Hawkwell House Hotel I didn’t think I’d still be here 20 years later, but I still enjoy coming into work every day and that’s the main thing.
“I’ll really miss it when I retire in a couple of years.”
In celebration of her two decades of service, her colleagues surprised her with a lunch and gifts,
Anuj Sagar, general manager at Hawkwell House, said: "Congratulations and thank you to Rosemary on 20 years’ fantastic service.
"Housekeepers are often the unsung heroes of hotels and are such an integral part of the team and we’re fortunate to have such a strong group.
“There are a variety of career opportunities in the hotel industry and Rosemary’s journey is a fantastic example of how fulfilling working at Hawkwell House is.
"We are currently recruiting and would encourage people to find out more by visiting our website.”
