THE August bank holiday weekend is fast approaching with plenty of events and festivals happening around the county.
Therefore, we have put together a guide of what you can do to make the most of the long weekend.
The Big Feastival
When: Friday, August 23 - Sunday, August 25
Where: Alex James' Farm near Kingham
Described as 'Glastonbury but with lots more delicious food', The Big Feastival kicks off today.
Now in its 13th year, the festival is returning complete with an exciting line-up of chefs and food spots, plus live music and more.
The event, which takes place every year on Blur bassist Alex James's farm at Kingham, features headliners Becky Hill and Snow Patrol alongside Triple Brit Award nominee and singer songwriter Cat Burns, Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, Natasha Bedingfield, Kate Nash and Ash.
Sally Abe, Max La Manna and Andi and Miquita Oliver will be at the festival on Saturday and Simon Rogan will be there on Sunday.
The Foodies Festival
When: Saturday, August 24 - Monday, August 26
Where: Oxford South Parks
The UK's biggest travelling food and music festival series, Foodies Festival, is returning to Oxford's South Parks this weekend.
Following record visitor numbers in 2023, this year's festival will feature a star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs and chart-topping music stars.
The three-day event will host live cooking demonstrations by chefs including MasterChef champion, Dhruv Baker, Great British Bake Off The Professionals 2024 star, Hayley Tully, and TV chef Nigel Brown.
Also in attendance will be MasterChef: The Professionals finalist, Kasae Fraser, Great British Menu star and chef-patron, Paul Welburn, and ITV's This Morning wine expert, Joe Wadsack.
Jeremy Clarkson's new pub opening
When: Friday, August 23 at noon
Where: Burford
Opening today (August 23), The Farmer's Dog is guaranteed to attract crowds this weekend.
Today, queues have already formed outside the pub and Mr Clarkson himself has made an appearance.
The Sealed Knot
When: Sunday, August 25 and Monday, August 26
Where: Cropredy
The Sealed Knot is returning to the Banburyshire countryside this weekend, marking the 380th anniversary of the Battle of Cropredy Bridge.
The event will see hundreds of re-enactors take to the battlefield as it commemorates and explore the events of 1644 surrounding the historic village.
There is a full day of activity to "thrill and intrigue", with food traders, beer tent and living history all available to the public before, during and after the main event, which is a recreation of the Battle of Cropredy in 1644.
There will be living history and demonstrations from 11am each day, with re-enactments commencing at 12.30pm and the main battle starting at 2pm.
