Students collected their GCSE results from schools across the county on Thursday.

In yesterday’s Oxford Mail we covered as many as possible and today we are providing coverage from several other schools.

Almost half of all grades awarded to d’Overbroeck’s Oxford students were grade 7 or above.

With an overall pass rate of 98 per cent, almost a third of the school's entries achieved grade 8 or 9, and 100 per cent of their international students achieved grades 8 or 9 for fine art 

Principal, Patrick Horne, said: “It has been a privilege to share the joy with the students and their families today, and also with the dedicated teaching staff who have supported the students every step of the way."

Nearly a third of results awarded to Tudor Hall School's students, near Banbury, were grades 9 or 8, with 20 per cent of students achieving grades 9, 8 or 7 in all their subjects.

Headmistress, Julie Lodrick, said: "We are delighted to celebrate our girls’ GCSE results today. 

"Their hard work, positive attitude and good humour has secured them outstanding outcomes which will allow them to approach the next steps in their education with confidence."

The Swan School, in Oxford, celebrated its first ever GCSE results after welcoming its first pupils to the school in September 2019.

A total of 42 per cent of exams were graded as 7-9 and 83 per cent of entries were graded as 4-9.

Banbury and Bicester College, in Banbury, saw 94.4 per cent of its students achieve a pass (grade 4 or above) in their full-time GCSE programmes or standalone maths and English GCSEs.

The pass rate for English was 95.1 per cent, while it was 93.8 per cent for maths.

Kerrie Wood achieved a grade 6 in both her English online programme and in her maths online programme.

She said: “I am over the moon with my results, I am really pleased.

“I’d like to say to my teachers, thank you so much for all of your support and enthusiasm.

"I think that anybody who didn't achieve a pass at maths and English should go for it no matter how old they are or where they are in life."

City of Oxford College saw a pass rate of 95.2 per cent for its full-time GCSE programmes or standalone maths and English GCSEs.

The pass rate for English was 96.3 per cent, and 94.2 per cent for maths.

Andrew Morrey achieved a grade 7 in his English standalone evening programme at City of Oxford College and University Centre.

He said: "I’m feeling good and did better than expected. Something that it does drill home is the teaching was so engaging this time and that really helped me.

“I am currently working and this is attempt number three at the GCSE English, the last two being 18 years ago.

"I’m doing an apprenticeship via work, and you need the GCSE qualifications in order to do the apprenticeship."

UTC Oxfordshire, which is near Didcot and specialises in engineering and science, saw more than half of its Level 2 Engineering and Triple Science achieve passes.

Almost three quarters secured a pass in maths and 47 per cent passed double science.

In English, 63 per cent secured a grade 4 or above and 53 per cent of all grades were a grade 4 or above.

Jaxson Moody achieved 12 GCSEs, with nine of them being a grade 8 or 9.

Headteacher Emma Reynolds said: "I am absolutely delighted to share the GCSE results our students have achieved this year, surpassing our outcomes from both 2019 and 2023.

"This accomplishment is a true reflection of the hard work, resilience, and dedication shown by our students."

Sibford School, near Banbury, recorded GCSE results among the best in the school’s history.

Headteacher, Rebecca Evans, said: "These results are a reflection of the resilience and determination our students have shown throughout their educational journey. 

"We are incredibly proud of all of them, not only for the outstanding grades they have achieved but for the way they have grown into such capable and genuine young people."

At Lord Williams’s School, in Thame, 73 per cent of students achieved five or more higher grades (9-4).

Three quarters achieved passes, a grade 4 or above, in both English and maths.

Headteacher Jon Ryder said: "I am especially delighted with the successes achieved by our Year 11s this year.

"Many of them have overcome considerable challenges over the past few years to achieve these results and I congratulate them all."
