A number of city centre roads are closed this week to "facilitate filming", Oxfordshire County Council has confirmed. 

Merton Street, Oriel Square and King Edward Street in Oxford were closed from 7pm yesterday evening (August 20) and will not reopen until 6am on Thursday (August 22).

Queens Lane, New College Lane and Catte Street will also be closed from 7pm on Thursday, August 22 until 6am on Saturday, August 24.

A notice from Oxfordshire County Council said: "The Order, which comes into force on August 20 is introduced for traffic and safety measures to facilitate filming in the various city roads and which is promoted by Motive Pictures (YS) Limited."

Motive Pictures is an independent British production company specialising in premium drama series and feature films for the UK, US, and international markets.
