Oxfordshire County Council has told drivers three iconic city centre roads will be closed for a day.
The picturesque Merton Street, Oriel Square and King Edward Street in Oxford were closed from 7pm this evening (August 20) and will not reopen until 6am on Thursday (August 22).
The council gave no further explanation.
Earlier this week we reported that Hollywood star George Clooney is producing a new series starring Michael Fassbender which is currently filming in Oxford.
Merton Street was frequently used as a filming location for Morse spin-off Endeavour among other productions.
Oxfordshire County Council has been contacted.
