Fire crews and specialist response vehicles were called to a haystack blaze and a field fire spreading over hundreds of metres.
A fire at a farm near Bucknell broke out at around 5pm yesterday (Monday, August 19) sparking a major response from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue.
The fire was contained within an hour as crews from Bicester, Kidlington, Rewley Road and Banbury attended along with a water carrier from Wheatley and a 4x4 vehicle from Banbury.

Assisted by the farmer, some of the crews stayed on the scene throughout the night to manage the fire allowing it to burn under control.
A welfare unit from Eynsham was also in attendance to support crews.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “The cause of the fire is unknown, but whilst the weather has cooled slightly we would urge people to be aware of fire safety in the countryside, to minimise the risk. “
