Motorists were stuck for hours on the A34 near Oxfordshire today (August 19) due to an incident involving part of a combine harvester.
It is understood a header from a combine harvester fell from the back of a tractor on the A34 at East Ilsley in West Berkshire, blocking the carriageway and causing a section of the road to close.
The road closure caused traffic chaos, with many motorists saying they were stuck in the traffic for two hours.
Thames Valley Police Roads Policing confirmed the driver was uninjured and urged motorists to avoid the road via social media this morning.

One motorist told the Oxford Mail: "I’ve been stuck in the traffic on the A34 northbound after Chieveley for two hours having moved about two miles and haven’t moved for the last 15 minutes."
Another said they had moved 1.5 miles northbound in two hours.
There were also delays southbound due to "drivers slowing to look at the incident", according to one eyewitness.
At around 12.45pm National Highways reported that the road had reopened, however six miles of "severe delays" remained on approach.
