City of Oxford College and University Centre has congratulated its 46 students who passed their T Levels qualifications.

Activate Learning, one of the first providers to offer the new qualification in Oxfordshire in September 2021, is celebrating its second cohort of T Levels students completing their second year.

Two of the subjects at City of Oxford College and University Centre saw 100 per cent pass rates.

Deputy chief executive officer at Activate Learning, Cheri Ashby, said: "Today, we are delighted to congratulate our T Levels students on achieving their qualifications.

“Compared to last year, over double the number of students of students are now studying these qualifications in areas such as Digital Production, Design and Development, Health, Management and Administration, and Engineering.

"This year we have seen our pass rates increase to seven per cent above the national rates published in the media, and more students achieving higher grades."

One of the successful students, Philippa Stroud, achieved a Distinction grade in her Health (Adult Nursing) T Level and will now go on to study a Midwifery degree at Oxford Brookes University.

She said: "I kid you not, I started crying when I got my results, it was amazing and really relieving to know that all the hard work I put in over the last two years paid off."

Similarly, Kieran Dass and Naqib Ibrahim both achieved Merit grades in their respective T Levels and are now set to embark on their next academic steps.

Mr Dass said: "I was quite relaxed coming up to results day, and I was quite pleasantly surprised with my results as they were better than what I had expected."

Neil Brookes, executive director faculties and colleges (North) at Activate Learning, added: "We would like to extend huge congratulations to all students collecting such fantastic T Levels results today.

"These results mark the end of a two-year journey for our students who have worked so hard with our employer partners.

“Students have benefitted from full industry immersion alongside their theoretical learning.

"They have had the opportunity to work closely with, and under the supervision of, industry experts.

"This opportunity brings to life their classroom-based learning experiences and ensures they are familiar with the most up to date ways of working and can practice in state-of-the-art settings in authentic learning situations.

“Students receiving results today are in the best position to progress onto their next steps with great confidence and preparedness for success in higher education or in the workplace.

"Whichever route they take, we look forward to following their achievements in the years to come."
