A falafel restaurant in the city which serves vegan dishes has been handed a low rating for its food hygiene.

Aleppo's Falafel in Raja Court, just off Cowley Road, has received a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating which means inspectors deem there to be 'major improvement necessary'.

Inspectors found the 'management of food safety' was the main issue at the eatery which needed 'major improvement' as 'cleanliness and condition of facilities and building' was noted to be 'generally satisfactory'.

Meanwhile, 'hygienic food handling' was rated to be 'good' during the inspection which was carried out earlier this year, the Food Standards Agency states.

Aleppo's Falafel has an average rating of five-out-of-five stars on the customer feedback website Tripadvisor from a total of 19 reviews.
