This week police have recovered Class A drugs among many neighbourhood operations in south Oxfordshire. 

Thame Neighbourhood Team carried out numerous operations this week, including ones related to drugs, driving and anti-social behaviour. 

The team carried out a number of positive stop searches recovering both Class A and Class B drugs.

They also completed engagement at local retail outlets as part of Operation Purchase and seized a moped being driven with no insurance across crops, causing criminal damage to the value of around £500 near Garsington.

The team developed intelligence around several entrenched anti-social behaviour issues locally and issued a Community Protection Warning to a resident in Wheatley responsible for multiple incident of anti-social behaviour.

Officers also carried out patrols of public spaces in Watlington, Chinnor and Thame and assisted response colleagues in responding to a person attacking property with a knife, leading to an arrest and a remand in police custody.

Neighbourhood policing teams work together with the local community and partners to prevent and reduce crime and disorder, improve neighbourhood conditions and improve feelings of security.

They aim to make communities safer through an approach that is focused on visibility, engagement, problem solving and community resilience. 

Teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, police community support officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers and special constabulary.
