Pupils all over the UK have been receiving A-level results today with many hoping to get into Oxford University.
The esteemed institution is one of the most famous in the world and was recently named the best university in the world by Times Higher Education for the eighth year running.
Several students will have had the University of Oxford as a firm offer but others may have received better grades than expected and be in a place to now apply.
If this is the case, pupils may wish to defer by a year but will nevertheless need to get their application in soon ready for the start of the 2025 academic year.

For undergraduate courses, the application deadline is Tuesday, October 15 via UCAS and for postgraduate it depends on the specific course.
The written work for admission will take place in November while interview dates for admission will be held in December.
Should this all prove successful, a final offer letter will be issued in January 2025.
