A student at a Banbury sixth form was overjoyed to discover she has achieved a place at Cambridge University as she collected her A-level results this morning.

Wykham Park Academy Sixth Form student Andreea Okoye achieved top results in all of her STEM subjects.

She attained three A*s in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry and will go on to study medicine at Cambridge University, a Russel Group university and one of the top universities in the country.

She collected her results this morning (Thursday, August 15) with her dad, who was "really really happy" with her achievements.

Ms Okoye told the Oxford Mail: "I am very very happy. I was really nervous about today, so it's a good day."

Speaking about her experience with A-levels, she said it's been "hard" because she has had to prioritise studying over her hobbies.

"Those memories would've been temporary, but this is something I can be proud of for the rest of my life," she said.

"The teachers at this school really support you through it."

Overjoyed at her results, she described today as "the best day of [her] life".

Ms Okoye added: "This is the best thing I've ever done and achieved in my life."
