A food and drink festival will take place in Banbury this Sunday, offering cuisines from around the world.
The Banbury Food and Drink Festival, organised by the town council, is to be held in Market Place, on August 18, from 10.30am to 4pm.
More than 70 traders will attend the event, offering a larger variety of food and drink options than any other event in the town.
There will be traditional favourites as well as something new, with items from around the world.
One of the highlights of the day is expected to be the Get Cooking! workshops for children.
These classes can be booked on the morning of the festival for youngsters to attend at a later time in the day.
Host Anne Marie said: "Tasty, healthy food made with simple affordable ingredients to inspire all ages to eat less processed foods and show how the whole family can get involved in the kitchen.
"The joy of seeing children chopping, mixing, and tasting what they have made always makes me smile, especially when they announce it is the first time they have tried a specific ingredient."
Businesses from the town will come together to offer snacks, meals, and desserts, as well as a wide array of drinks.
The food and drink selection will reflect not only Banbury's own cuisine but also dishes from vendors based much further afield.
There will be lots of tables and chairs for those looking to sit down and eat.
Live music performances will be provided by acts sourced by Banbury Music Mix Radio.
This will include Eva Gadd, Chris and Hannah Tobin, Mr Bigglesworth, Abi Rowberry, Beau Norton, and Dom James Jnr.
The council said "each act has been selected for their immense talent and fantastic sound, each one ideally suited to the atmosphere the festival will bring to Market Place".
The event will extend towards the town hall, where more stalls and seating spaces will be available for visitors to relax.
The Food and Drink Festival is the latest in a series of events held throughout the year for Banbury residents.
It follows Banbury Music Mix and will be succeeded by Emergency Services Day and Battle of Britain Memorial events.
Banbury Music Mix took place at the end of July and featured Jack Halls, Lake Acacia, Black Neon Fuzz, Cold Blue Daze, and The SKAlectrics.
The town council said these events are "designed to engage Banbury residents and showcase the best of the Banbury community with local talent, exciting entertainment and a variety of town businesses".
