A New York music producer who has worked with David Bowie and Dave Grohl has collaborated with an Oxfordshire band.
Glen Robinson is used to working with massive music names which also include Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, The Ramones and U2.
The legendary New York music producer has switched course though and decided to work with the Banbury-based band LAKE ACACIA after finding the duo by chance on social media.
Together, they have created two new songs for release this summer.

“I was scrolling down my Facebook feed, and I came across Lake Acacia’s account,” said Mr Robinson.
“I was intrigued by what I saw and I listened to their music.
“I listened to about half of a song and I knew that I wanted to work with these guys.
“I’m onboard with what they’re doing.
“Their incorporation of big riffs, drums, bass, synth and tremendous vocals do justice to their vision of music – they’re a hybrid of Muse and Royal Blood.”

The two new songs out now, ‘We Don’t Want You Now’ (released July 26) and ‘I Can’t Let Go’ (released May 24) reflect the band’s unique heavy riff, synth-layered sound.
Tim Groethe, the band’s bassist and lead vocalist, and Joe Homer, drummer and backing vocals, worked with Mr Robinson to take old demos and transform them.
“When we got the message from Glen Robinson saying he loved our work we couldn’t believe it,” said Mr Groethe.
“We were both excited about the possibility of working with somebody that has the experience he does.
“It came at the right time as well. We’d just started delving into some of our old demos stored on an old hard drive when we came across two that we’d completely forgotten about.

“Almost immediately the melodies came back into my head, and we just knew that these would be the first ones to work with Mr Robinson to evolve into fully-fledged songs.”
Before forming LAKE ACACIA, Tim and Joe worked on various music projects before deciding to join forces while planning for their first EP ‘Figure Frame’ in 2016.
Eight years on, the duo have released 10 songs and toured around the UK with an aim to make as much noise as possible with lead singer Mr Groethe saying their style is to “sound like five people”.
Mr Robinson is now a firm fan of the band and only has good things to say about the members and working with the group.

“They are such great human beings, and they deserve for their songs to do well,” he added.
“Their tracks sound astonishing and they just need that big break for their songs to hit the mainstream.”
