A man grabbed a five-year-old girl's arm on an Oxford bus and tried to prevent them from getting off, police have said. 

The incident occurred at around 3.55pm on Thursday 18 July, on the number 10 bus in Cowley Road near Magdalen Road.

A family were attempting to leave the vehicle when a man grabbed a child’s arm and pulled them around.

The five year-old child was not injured in the incident and did not attend the hospital.

Thames Valley Police has released an image of an individual that officers would like to speak to following the assault.

Investigating officer PC Cameron Woods, based at Oxford's police station said: “We are appealing to anyone who may recognise the person in this image, particularly if they were on the bus at the time, to please get in touch as they may have vital information about this incident.

“You can contact police by calling 101 or online quoting reference 43240343273.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
