A SENTENCING date has been set for a man who admitted to setting fire to a property causing £20k of damage.
Matthew Powell, of Aspinden Road, London, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (August 13) charged with one count of arson.

The 45-year-old was accused of setting fire to a property in Wadards Meadow, Witney belonging to Cottsway Housing Association to the value of £20,000.

He appeared in court for his first hearing and pleaded guilty to the offence of arson. It is unknown how the fire was set.
Powell is now due to appear at the same court on October 8 for his sentencing.
The case was adjourned so reports could be prepared prior to the proceedings.
