Shaun Evans, star of the ITV crime drama Endeavour, has been cast in a brand new drama.
The 44-year-old played the titular role of Inspector Endeavour Morse across nine seasons from 2012 until 2023.
He earned a special place in the hearts of those from Oxford with the majority of filming taking place in the city.
Mr Evans has even returned on occasion since with fans meeting him earlier this year as he gave a reading at at Exeter College Chapel on Sunday, March 3.

He has now been cast in a brand new project alongside three other lead actors in David Edgar’s production of Here in America.
The Endeavour star will play the part of Gadg in the production which will run from Saturday, September 14 until Friday, September 27 at the Orange Tree Theatre in London.
A spokesperson for the live show said: “On a rainswept afternoon in 1952, Hollywood and Broadway’s leading director, Elia Kazan met his closest collaborator, the playwright Arthur Miller.
“As the anti-communist crusade of McCarthyism blacklisted hundreds of their colleagues, Kazan and Miller faced a stark choice.

“Should they betray their friends, or risk never working again?”
Mr Evans was pictured alongside his co-stars on Monday evening on the theatre’s official Facebook page.
A statement said: “Rehearsals have begun for Here in America.”
