A bride completed a five kilometre run in a wedding dress ahead of her big day.

Sophie put on running shoes under her dress and wore a veil and matching sunglasses for the Witney parkrun.

Groom-to-be Owen sported a tuxedo-style T-shirt and shorts.

Organisers played Going to the Chapel to the grinning pair as they left the field having completed the three-mile course.

They were joined by their wedding party and 238 finishers at West Witney Sports & Social Club on Saturday (August 10).

Organisers posted on social media: "Congratulations Owen & Sophie! You and your wedding party were great fun this morning, and we wish you every success for your impending nuptials."

The couple, who were not local, were getting married in the area.

Participants in the weekly fun run have included people visiting from places as far afield as Cornwall, Yorkshire, Portsmouth, Cheltenham, Winchester and London.

Nearly 300 people turned out for the 223rd event which was on July 27.
