A 125 homes application has been given the green light following a "flurry of successful planning approvals" and despite initial refusal.
The new houses will come to land south of Steeds Farm off Coxwell Road in Faringdon and planning permission given is for a 'reserved matters' proposal which includes details of design.
This comes as Bristol-based housebuilder Wain Homes Severn Valley is celebrating permission it has received for nearly 600 "energy efficient new homes" across Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and the West Midlands.

The Vale of White Horse District Council ruled last year that nine of the homes had an inadequate garden size and that three 2.5 storey units were too high, among other reasons before permission was refused in April.
Wain Homes contested the decision in October and now, speaking after the approval, manging director Carl Haley said: "As an independent housebuilder with a 50-year heritage, Wain Homes has a reputation for delivering new communities which landowners and local communities can be proud of and make positive impressions on the local area.
"Our flexible, common sense approach to land acquisition benefits landowners who wish to secure best value for land whilst at the same time creating legacy developments and this is reflected in our recent successful planning applications."
The development at Faringdon is the largest of those approved and includes light stone and brick as the main building material and 34.4 per cent of the homes are 'affordable'.
A range of house types and sizes ranging from one-bedroom flats to five-bedroom detached homes are proposed to help ensure a balanced community is created.
