A TEENAGER has been jailed after two burglaries and fraud in Banbury.
Jack Mobey, of Wimborne Avenue, Banbury, was sentenced to eight months in a young offender institution and ordered to pay compensation at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 31.
On April 6 this year, the 18-year-old burgled the address of a man in his fifties in Ruscote Avenue. On April 30, Mobey drove a stolen Hyundai Matrix on Aynho Road in Oxfordshire while disqualified from driving.

The following month, on May 31, Mobey stole a chainsaw, an angle grinder and batteries from Southam Road Cemetery.
Then, three days later, Mobey spent £67.79 in One Stop on Warwick Road on a bank card stolen from a man in his forties.
He was found guilty of one count each of burglary dwelling – with intent to steal and burglary other than a dwelling – theft.
The teen had already pleaded guilty to one count each of fraud by false representation, driving whilst disqualified and receiving stolen goods. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Sophie Smith, of the Priority Crime Team based at Banbury police station, said: “This case provides a clear example of how we are taking action against individuals who are displaying continuous offending.
“Jack Mobey has been brought to our attention numerous times over the last few months and has shown a complete disregard of the implications of his behaviour.
“Mobey’s crimes have impacted negatively on the lives of many people within our community and I hope this result allows them some form of comfort and closure.”
