A SUSPENDED jail sentence has been handed to a woman found guilty of not caring properly for five cats and a terrapin turtle.

Ivy Rusher, of The Malthouse, Ashbury, was found guilty of failing in her duty to ensure the welfare of an animal on July 3 last year.

She failed to ensure five cats and a terrapin were provided a suitable environment, a suitable diet, and failing to ensure the animals exhibited normal behaviour patterns while living in Abingdon.
