A COURT hearing for an asylum seeker who has been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl has been adjourned.
Anicet Mayela, 40, was due to appear in Oxford Crown Court on Friday (August 9) after being charged with one count of raping a young girl.

It was heard that Mayela, of Desborough Crescent, Oxford, is accused of raping a girl between December 1 and December 31 last year.

He was due in court at the end of May. However, the case was delayed.
The case has now been delayed further due to some administration delays.
He is now due to appear in the same court on September 5.
Mayela has been fighting for his return to the Republic of the Congo after arriving in the UK in 2004.
