A Chipping Norton care home said it is "incredibly proud" after winning a dance competition.
Southerndown Care Home was recently crowned the winner of the SunRae Inclusive Care Home Dance Competition for 2024.
Residents and staff received some training from the team at SunRae in April, before completing the routine to Rod Stewart’s ‘I am Sailing’.
The entry was then put forward and the team from SunRae visited the home last week to award the staff with medals and a trophy.
The trophy is now on display in the care home's bistro.
General manager at Southerndown, Arlene Acuavera, said: "Our residents and guests had a wonderful day along with the wonderful team from SunRae.
"To even be considered for an award is a great achievement, but to actually win the competition is something we are all incredibly proud of."
She added: "We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Southerndown as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one of our favourites."
One resident added: "I’ve never won anything, so to win a trophy and a medal for a dance competition at this time of my life was never something I imagined would happen.
"It was even more special to do it to one of my favourite songs."
