A nursing home in Witney has celebrated 'Alice in Wonderland' with a Mad Hatter-themed coffee morning.

Cedar Court marked the anniversary of Lewis Carroll beginning his famous tale by turning the home into a "whimsical wonderland".

Gemma, Cedar Court’s activities co-ordinator, said: "Everyone had such a great time. It was wonderful to see our residents so engaged and happy, reminiscing and enjoying themselves."

Residents enjoyed a variety of cakes and biscuits while recalling personal experiences of 'Alice in Wonderland', whether from the cinema or television.

Along with staff, they also took part in a game of Alice in Wonderland Bingo with prizes for the winners.

Barbara, a resident, enjoyed selecting her prize after winning the game with a full house.

The highlight of the decor was a playful Mad Hatter top hat, which residents took turns wearing.
