A major health and beauty retailer has closed its doors in Oxford with rumours that popular bakery Greggs could be taking its place.

Superdrug in Cowley Road shut for good on Saturday, July 27 and it has already left people wondering what will be in its place.

It has been rumoured online that Greggs will take its spot but this has not been confirmed by the bakery when asked by this newspaper.

Superdrug has other stores in Templars Square and at the Westgate shopping centre.

A spokesperson for the retailer thanked the customers who had supported the business in Cowley Road.
