A new music drama telling the story of a pioneering black footballer will be performed in Oxford during Black History Month.
Anti-racism educational charity Show Racism the Red Card UK has commissioned the drama, which will play at the Burton Taylor Studio within Oxford Playhouse on October 11 and 12.
Titled 'Our Little Hour', it shines a light on Walter Tull, the first black footballer to play at the highest level of the domestic game in the UK.
Orphaned at the age of eight and the grandson of a Barbadian slave, he defied the odds to carve out a successful career.
He also made history as the first man of his heritage to be commissioned as an officer in the British Army.
His life was cut short just weeks before the end of World War One as he was killed in action.
Playwright Dougie Blaxland said 'Our Little Hour' is a "celebration of the life of an extraordinary man whose pioneering spirit continues to inspire the campaign for justice and equality".
He added: "It is also deeply fitting that the production will be staged throughout Black History Month and honour the memory of one of the most significant figures in British sporting and military history."
Tickets for the 7.30pm performances and a matinee at 2.30pm on October 12 are available from Oxford Playhouse's website.
