A suspected stolen car has been recovered in an Oxfordshire village.

Officers were patrolling Wheatley last night (Monday, August 5) when they came across a Nissan vehicle believed to be stolen.

Thames Valley Police‘s intelligence team and rural crime task force were patrolling together at the time.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Naomi from the taskforce’s intelligence team is out with the officers on patrol tonight.

“Occasionally the intel team spend a shift with the officers to see what they do and discuss tactics for fighting rural crime.

“This Nissan is currently being recovered in Wheatley as suspected stolen.”

Launched in March 2022, the rural crime taskforce, consisting of a team of officers and intelligence support, aims to confront and reduce rural crime while making the Thames Valley region a "hostile environment for criminals".
