Oxford has been named the happiest city in the UK by a new study.
Research from Shepherds Friendly analysed 40 of the most popular cities across the country to determine which are the best for raising a family.
Although Oxford was found to be the happiest city, beating Edinburgh and York to top spot, the average price of childcare is £1,313 per month, according to the research.
The only city of the 10 happiest with a higher cost is Brighton, which ranked as the 10th happiest.
Oxford also had the highest average house price of those in the top 10, at £450,000, and the second highest in terms of monthly utility costs.
However, with the average gross yearly salary in Oxford being £37,617, it also come out on top in this department.
