Here are 7 dogs at the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary looking for forever homes and how you can adopt them.

The sanctuary at Stadhampton rehomes up to 500 animals every year and has found 27,000 animals a new home since it opened over 50 years ago.

BASIL

Age 14 years old

Breed Springer Spaniel

Basil is a friendly and spirited dog. He is still very active despite his age. He absolutely loves toys and his favourite activities is running around playing fetch. He could live with teenagers aged 13+

He needs a pet free home and a private secure garden to run around in. Basil is happy to sniff dogs when he’s out and about but would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

BUSTER

Breed Bulldog

Buster is a typical Bulldog; he’s full of character and loves attention. Buster could live with children aged 12+ He demands unlimited cuddles

Buster in not looking for an energetic home so is ideal for a similar owner. He needs a private secure garden and a pet free home.

Buster has skin issues and will need special food and medication.

GARY

Breed Lurcher crossbreed

Gary is a big softy who would love his chance at a forever home. He’s a loving soul who loves a cuddle with his favourite people. He could live with teenagers age 13+

He could potentially live with another medium to large female dog pending successful meets at the sanctuary.

Gary needs basic training once in the home, a home without cats and a private secure garden with a minimum of 6ft fencing all around.

JACKSON

Breed Large Crossbreed

Jackson is super smart and loves to learn, he loves playing with toys and is really affectionate.

He can live with children aged 14+. He’s a sweet lad who will flourish in a home environment, given the right support and training.

He needs a home without any other pets and owners who understand his needs and are prepared to give him lots of time to settle.

He requires a quiet home with a good-sized private garden that has 6ft fencing all around and owners who are home a lot initially so they can build up the time that he can be left alone.

ROXY

Breed Medium sized crossbreed

Once she feels comfortable, Roxy is super loving and enjoys a fuss and cuddle.

She’s super smart and eager to learn. She would enjoy a home with adopters who will enjoy training a young dog.

She needs to be the only pet in an adult only home.

She will need any potential adopters to come to the sanctuary multiple times before adoption due to her being nervous around new people and she needs a private secure garden with minimum 6ft fencing.

RUBY

Breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Ruby is a sweet Staffy who can be a little worried by the world. She is looking for a quiet retirement home where she can relax and sunbathe.

She is not an energetic dog and requires short plods where she can sniff.

She needs a pet free, adult only home with a private secure garden.

Ruby is worried by men and will need multiple appointments to get used to any males in an adopters home.

TIGGY

Breed Jack Russell Terrier

Tiggy is a lovely little lady with a typical Jack Russell independent character. She walks well and enjoys a stroll with her humans.

She can be shy of new faces but she makes loving bonds with her favourite people.

She needs an adult only home where she is the only pet in the home and a private secure garden with a minimum of 4ft fencing all around.

She has a luxating patella in one of her legs. This doesn’t need treatment at the moment but may do in time.
