A major American car rental company is leaving Oxford in favour of London.
Zipcar is a car-sharing company which provides vehicle reservations to its members, billable by the minute, hour or day.
However, the company is departing Oxfordshire after finding it difficult to run a cost-effective operation.
The business will also pull out of Bristol and Cambridge as part of the move to London.

A spokesperson for Zipcar said: “It has become increasingly difficult to provide and maintain our Zipcar fleet from these locations in a cost-effective way.
“A large majority of our vehicles and members are based in London, which is why we are consolidating our resources in the capital to give members the best experience possible.”
The operation in Oxford will officially come to an end on Saturday, August 31.
