As rumours surrounding the next James Bond movie swirl, new research has revealed an Oxfordshire tourism hotspot is among the best places to appear in the 007 movies.

Blenheim Palace in Woodstock has taken top spot for the best James Bond film locations ahead of lLake Coo and Thailand’s Phang Nga Bay.

According to the data, compiled by Betway, Blenheim Palace came out on top due to its "wide range of activities on offer proving to be popular with tourists, who are able to enjoy afternoon tea, picnics and TV and film-themed experiences at the setting".

The venue featured in Spectre in 2015 where James Bond escaped from an all-important Spectre meeting.

Another fan favourite that closely followed was Villa Balbianello located in Lake Como.

The Italian site features in the 2006 movie Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig in the lead role of James Bond. 

Also highly rated Verzasca Dam in Switzerland, which fans may recognise from 1995 film GoldenEye, with the stunning views at both drawing tourists in for activities including bungee jumping and sightseeing. 

Ocho Rios in Jamaica has also proved to be popular with the public.

The setting was used as a nightclub and as a hotel in Dr No (1962), and since has been used as a popular getaway for couples across the globe. 

Other locations ranked include the Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway (No Time To Die), the Jules Verne Restaurant in Paris (A View To A Kill) and the Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco (GoldenEye).
