There is a huge Met Office yellow thunderstorm and rain warning covering 90 per cent of England including Oxfordshire.
In Oxfordshire today will be a very warm or hot day with temperatures hitting 27C.
Heavy rain which fell this morning will clear to the east but soon after, there is a risk of scattered thunderstorms particularly in the afternoon and evening.
This evening will see some thundery showers persist, but it will soon turn dry.
The RAC is warning drivers that sudden gusty winds can unsettle vehicles so keep your speed down.
Hail storms can reduce visibility so pull over and wait for it to pass.
If the road is flooded turn round and find an alternative route.
With thunderstorms possible across parts of the UK this morning, here's some advice on driving in thunderstorms from our partners @TheRAC_UK and @NationalHways#WeatherReady
