An Oxfordshire business has been named among the top food and drink producers globally thanks to its gin.
Chadlington-based Cafe de la Post picked up a highly prized 2-star Great Taste award for its Evenlode Gin.
As many as 13,672 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process and Evenlode Gin was awarded one of only 1,386 Great Taste 2-stars.
The gin was described by the judges as having “an immediate elegance with well-judged and balanced botanical flavours that take the palate on a pleasing journey.”

“Initial floral and citrus notes are then accompanied by a good body and nicely judged perfumed juniper,” added the judges.
“The finish is pleasantly lingering with a touch of anise and dryness while retaining a lingering juniper richness.
“This is very elegant and well balanced yet retains a richness that would suit many cocktails, not least a classic gin and tonic.”
Hugo Pickering, owner of Café de la Post, said: “We are really thrilled to have won a Great Taste award, and proud to be adding the prestigious black and gold Great Taste badge of honour to our gin, which was crafted in association with Wood Brothers Distillery in Bampton.
