Four young people from a Kidlington training provider have been crowned regional winners of a BBC competition.
ACE Training's Remus, Riley, Muhammad, and Heath, collectively known as 'The Brickie Boys', were announced as winners of the BBC Young Reporter 2024 competition for the south of England.
Their project, 'How Teenage Guys Are Seen in Society', drew attention to the challenges faced by young men who opt for vocational paths instead of traditional academic routes.
Tutor Natalie Games, who first introduced the boys to the project, said: "I am so pleased for my students.
"Together they took on the challenge of sharing their views on navigating this modern and confusing world that they live in.
"As a team, they can hold their heads up high because they deserve this."
They will now collaborate with a BBC South production team to create a report focused on raising aspirations and showcasing alternatives to academia.
Their project could span TV, radio, podcast, print, or a combination of all four media.
ACE Training congratulated Remus, Riley, Muhammad, and Heath for their "outstanding achievement", adding it "always believed in them".
The organisation is a specialist construction centre with programmes focused on practical, hands-on learning experiences.
It says it aims to "equip our learners with the confidence and skills needed for a successful future in the working world".
