Two Oxfordshire brothers have completed a charity walk after being inspired by the "exceptional" care their mother is receiving from a healthcare and bereavement charity's nurses.
On July 20, siblings Robert and Al Romanes, aged 60 and 64 respectively, walked from Christ Church College, Oxford, to Dorset's Christchurch, arriving nine days later having covered 115 miles.
Their 94-year-old mother, Mary, is currently receiving care from the charity which she used to fundraise for.
Her son's have raised £4,500 so far and have set up a Just Giving page, which has received almost £2,500.
Robert, from Aldworth, near the Oxfordshire border, said his mother's health "has been declining and she has needed more support".
He added: “We have been using private nursing and we also got in touch with Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire.
"When I went to visit my mum after Sue Ryder nurses had made their intervention, I was taken aback with how much they were doing to support our carers."
Talking about the walk, he said: "The first two days were pretty exhausting, and at the end it felt like we were 80 and 84, not 60 and 64. "
He added: "We are really pleased to have been able to give something back, we were determined to do something of significance with all the care and support Sue Ryder are giving us right now.”
