THE sentencing of a man caught attempting to send sexual messages to young girls has been delayed.

Kyle Morris, 27, was due to be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday (July 30) for one count each of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child under 13 to look at an image of sexual activity.

The defendant was caught between October 16 and October 30, 2022 attempting to message whom he thought was a 12-year-old called ‘Lily’ in Oxfordshire.

He had also attempted to cause ‘Lily’ to watch a masturbation video.

Morris had pleaded guilty at the lower courts and has since been remanded in custody.

He was due to be sentenced on Tuesday but the case had to be adjourned due to his lack of representation.

The defendant told the judge he wanted representation and had sent a letter to a solicitor a day prior to his hearing but he could not remember which one.

“I can’t remember,” he said. “I just wrote the letter and posted it so quick, I really can’t remember. They made me quickly post it so I didn’t have time.”

He was provided a list of local solicitors to contact.

His case has now been adjourned. Morris, of Hertford Road, Tewin, Hertfordshire, will now be sentenced on August 13.
