A new children's water play facility is set to be introduced at a park in Didcot this summer.
The splash pad, a collaboration between Didcot Town Council and water play specialists, The Splash, will be constructed in Edmonds Park.
It will sit alongside the recently completed Edmonds Park Pavilion and will give people "a fun way to entertain their children this summer", the town council said.
Complete with 24 nature-themed features, the design promises to provide a "unique way to splash and play".
Among the features are butterflies, fountains, a water tunnel, a swan shower, spraying peacock tail, a drench bucket and reed showers, along with Freddy the Frog who sprays water at different heights.
In addition to the wet activities, the park will also house interactive activities including a sliding frog puzzle, a sparking butterfly and a what’s the weather today game, aiming to cater to various ages and abilities.
The deputy mayor, Jim Loder, is set to open the splash pad on Wednesday, July 31, just after 1pm.
The Splash Pad will then be open for the public to use until 5pm that day.
From then onward, subject to staff availability, the facility is due to remain operational until mid-September.
During this time it will be open from midday to 4pm from Monday to Saturday, and from midday to 3pm on Sunday.
