An Oxford commuter is furious after losing out on £105 due to the car park being closed at the city’s rail station.
Jon English commutes weekly to London but saw signs informing of a 10-day closure at the station car park on the morning of Wednesday, July 24.
He missed his train which he had paid £80 for, and then had to pay £25 in parking charges at Oxpens while the station cost is normally around £7.
“I received no notice of this from GWR, Network Rail or APCOA who runs the car park,” said Jon.

“I appreciate this isn't massive news but I don't understand why none of the companies who I interact with weekly sent out any notices about this.
“Several cars were also caught unaware when I was there and were needing to turn around.”
The Becket Street long-stay park will reopen on Friday after work is completed on Thursday while the short-stay remains open throughout.
A spokesperson for GWR said: "We are really sorry if the customer feels caught out and we are happy to refund the additional cost of the train ticket as a gesture of goodwill.

"The closure of the car park, to facilitate planned engineering work, was advertised both in the car park and at the station at the beginning of July.
"Unfortunately, the car park had to be closed two days earlier than our original plans to prevent people from using the replacement bus area, and customers were alerted to this change a week in advance on 17 July."
