Oxford Mail Camera Club members have been taking photos of abandoned buildings.
That was this week’s theme and it prompted plenty of pictures of the remains of old abbeys in Oxfordshire and beyond.
There were also photos of abandoned cottages in Scotland and abandoned homes in Europe, including Portugal.

While it was difficult to choose our photo of the week we thought Mark Guschtscha’s striking image of the abandoned West Pier in Brighton.
Opened in 1866 by 1975 its heyday was over and it closed.
It fell into disrepair and in 2003 was largely destroyed by a fire, thought to be arson and was never rebuilt.
Each week camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page. A selection are then featured in the Oxford Mail and in The Oxford Times.
The next theme is work/working.
