A key bridge in an Oxfordshire town is set to undergo weeks of closure because of emergency repairs.
The Madley Brook bridge in Witney requires “urgent replacement” according to West Oxfordshire District Council.
Work will commence on Monday, July 29, and the public has been warned about the closure with alternative routes suggested by West Oxfordshire District Council.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Notice for Madley Park pedestrians.

“Use the lane from Madley Park to Newland, opposite the Griffin Pub, as a detour. We apologise for any inconvenience while the work is undertaken.”
This follows the news that since Monday, July 22, the Banbury Road B4100 to Bicester has been partially closed from the roundabout to Lodge Close.
This will last until the end of October so that improvements on the Banbury Road roundabout can continue.
