A man in his 40s who went missing from Oxford has been found, police have confirmed after he had gone missing for two days.

Police had concerns for the welfare of Luke Pieterson, 44, who was last seen leaving his home address on his birthday on Tuesday, July 23.

Thames Valley Police confirmed on Thursday morning that Mr Pieterson had been found as the force thanked the public for helping with the search to find him.

"Thank you to everyone that shared our appeal to find Luke, aged 44," the force said in a statement.

Police guidance on missing people states you are not wasting officers' time if you report someone as missing, and that a missing person will not be in trouble for it.
