A FIRST hearing has taken place for a man accused of raping a woman in Oxford.
Levi Bancroft, of HMP Wandsworth near London, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 23) for his first hearing.
The 22-year-old has been charged with one count each of rape of a woman and assaulting a person occasioning actual bodily. The complainant in this case cannot be named for legal reasons.

It is alleged that the offence took place in Oxford on November 16 last year. The details of the case are currently unknown.
The case has now been adjourned for a plea hearing to take place at the same court on Tuesday, July 30.
If guilty, he could face a prison sentence.
