Local shoppers have reacted to reports of Clintons in Banbury shutting down.
Numerous people on Facebook said the card shop is closing, and it is understood the shop is holding a closing down sale, with 20 per cent off everything.
Last August it was reported that Witney, Thame and Banbury that could be facing closure following reports that the retailer was considering the closure of 38 stores to protect itself against insolvency.
It was understood the high street retailer had appointed restructuring experts from FRP Advisory as it sought to secure its future.

One commenter described Banbury as a "ghost town", saying it is "full of coffee shops and charity shops".
Another said: "I wonder who can guess whether it will become another nail bar or another coffee shop. Pretty much all we have in the town centre apart from charity shops."
"Just another nail in the coffin for Banbury's shopping centre," said another.

One commenter compared it to a nearby town: "Went to Stratford today and had a lovely day. Hardly any empty shops and lots to do and see. An amazing town, nothing like Banbury."
Another commenter said: "Very sad. I love sending and receiving cards, and displaying them on the mantlepiece. I suppose things have to change."
The Oxford Mail has contacted Clintons for confirmation of the closure.
