In September a Bicester woman will walk the equivalent of two marathons from Bicester to Oxford city centre over two days for charity.

On September 28 and 29 Chrissy Sunley and a group of friends will complete the walk to raise awareness and money for local mental health charity, Equilore Equine Therapy and Learning.

Equilore provides horse assisted interventions to support individuals with mental health challenges where other talking therapies may not have been successful.

The group will complete the fundraiser dressed as horses and unicorns, covering a total distance of 60 miles in one weekend.

Ms Sunley said: "Equilore has been and remains an incredible source of support for me as I continue to recover from complex trauma, eight knee surgeries following a severe cycling accident, depression, anxiety and much more.

"For me this challenge is not about speed, but instead determination and self belief - setting myself a target, working towards it, believing that I can achieve it and going out there to complete it, hopefully inspiring many others along the way that recovery from mental health challenges is absolutely possible.

"It is now my time to give something back to this amazing charity that has been my absolute lifeline, our aim is to inspire others along the way and spread knowledge that recovery from physical and mental health challenges is absolutely possible, any support from the Oxford and surrounding communities is gratefully appreciated."

So far over £700 has been raised out of the £1500 target.
