Oxford has been ranked as one of the most unaffordable UK cities to raise a family in.
New research from Shepherds Friendly analysed 40 of the most popular cities across the country to determine which are the best for raising a family.
Oxford was named the eighth least affordable, with the average monthly cost of renting a three bedroom home being £1,772.
The cost of purchasing a property is, on average, £450,000, while the average monthly cost of childcare is £1,313 and utilities cost £282 per month on average.
London leads the list with an average rent of £2,805 per month for a three-bedroom home.
It was followed by Cambridge, Brighton, Leicester and Manchester in second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
