Abingdon market place was transformed with Star Wars characters, choir singers and decorations as part of an annual event over the weekend.

Against Breast Cancer is based in the town and has been funding research into fighting the disease for many years.

Splash of Pink is an annual fundraiser and the town's market place was filled on Saturday with food and craft stalls and performances from local acts including Abbey Brass Band, Strawberry Fayre Majorettes, and the town's Rock Choir.

Fundraisers also dressed as Star Wars' stormtroopers to bring in donations, and shops in the town dressed their windows in pink.

Against Breast Cancer was founded by Dr Anthony Leathem and his wife Patricia.

It funds pioneering research into new treatments, tools for earlier diagnosis and advice to reduce the risk of recurrence and secondary spread.

It works with expert scientists to increase the survival rates of all breast cancer patients and its long-term aim is to discover a vaccine against breast cancer.
